Meet Master B
Master B has been a musician for over four decades. As an under privileged youth, he was invited joined the Camden, NJ school district's music program under Mr. Gary Shusterman. He couldn't afford the instrument rental fee, so Mr. Shusterman paid it for him with a promise that he would never quit. Soon after, he was asked to try out for the NJ State Band held at Camden High which was very competitive and pushed him to the limit. He did not make the woodwinds cut and was and left defeated. Mr. Shusterman reminded him to believe in himself and had words that stuck with him throughout his life... "If learning music was easy, everyone would be doing it." Mr. Shusterman taught him over the summer 5 days a week and he tried out the following year which was a huge success making the state band program.
In 1992, he joined the prestigious Atlantic City High School Marching Band (1992-1996), under the hard core tutelage of Mr. Joseph Brown, where he honed in on his musical skills. He played in the corps style marching band, orchestra, jazz, and drum core. Mr. Brown always told him that "It's the work that you do that will get you where you want to be in life."
